Consumer Report Magazine not Recommending Apple iphone 4

I was really surprised to read this article on Consumers Report Magazine that they still not recommending Apple iphone 4 even with it's popularity and superior performance. Having used iphone 3 from my company, almost got me to buy the new iphone 4. I have to admit I am not really an iphone fanatic and ever since I have refused to buy iphone but given a chance to use iphone 3 from our company, I kinda like the phone and it's performance satisfies me. But this article regarding the poor reception problem when you touch a spot on the lower left side while you are in weak signal area could definitely cause lots of drop calls. My phone is mainly use to call patients for appointments and making changes on schedule from our agency's front desk and I travel lots of miles and desolate areas so getting a good reception and clear signal is a top priority on my list. Apple company though temporarily offered the case to remedy the problem but stopped it last Oct 1 and only provide the case upon request. So for those who wanted to buy iphone 4, make sure to ask for the case. Goodluck! Read More......

Online Banking Phishing Alert

This is true not just on online banking but all PHISHING ALERT.

Most reported phishing attempts are being carried out with malware (malicious software). Malware can infect a computer without the user even knowing it; for example, if the user opens an infected email or visits a website compromised by malware. Once the malware has infected a computer, it can generate web pages that look like legitimate bank websites. In this particular case, the malware modifies the Online Banking login process with an additional web page stating that the computer cannot be identified. The user is then asked to enter credit card information to continue.

The web page that requests the credit card information appears to originate from the legitimate Online Banking site with the correct web address (or URL) and security certificate information. However, this page is generated by the malware and has absolutely no connection the real Online Banking site. The web page’s only purpose is to collect the user’s data in order to commit fraud.

There are several steps you can take to protect yourself from this kind of phishing attempt:
Make sure the anti-virus/anti-malware software running on your computer is up-to-date. This software can help identify and prevent viruses and malware from being installed on your computer.
Follow the normal Online Banking login process and STOP if something seems unusual.
When you login to Online Banking, most login will first request your user ID.
You will then be directed to a page with a picture and a passphrase known only by you. If the picture and passphrase are incorrect, STOP.
If the picture and passphrase are correct, you will then be asked to enter your password, and potentially the answers to some challenge questions to register your computer.
Providing a credit card number to login to Online Banking would be unusual, since providing that information is not part of the normal Online Banking login process.
Be suspicious of unprompted pop-up windows that appear without clicking on a website link.
Always completely log out of Online Banking and other sensitive online applications before going to other websites. This helps ensure that Online Banking sessions do not remain active.
Let the establishment/bank know right away if you notice anything unusual about your Online Banking experience. Read More......

Online Reservations

Whatever your travel needs for the upcoming Holidays try to plan ahead. Nowadays we can book hotel rooms, rent a car and buy plane tickets online which make it a lot more convenient and not worry where to stay when you get to your destination unless you have relatives that picks you up in the airport and place to stay. After several trips I have learned that renting cars online is by far the best way to go specially on peak travel season. I do suggest try to reserve way advance. I have experienced last summer that I did not reserve the car after I booked my plane ticket because I thought it would be convenient to just do it right at the counter. That was a big mistake! It turned out I walked in to more than 5 rental car counters and all of them said fully booked. They only entertain people who have reserved online. I managed to rent a car at Alamo but it cost me $90.00 per day plus tax and other fees cost me almost $ 150.00 a day when I could have rented that for $27.00 - $ 50.00 per day and even cheaper if booked as package with plane ticket. The difference is I did not reserve online. I learned from it so now my next visit I made sure I book ahead of time. This December I will be back in Toronto again and I had a hard time finding a 8 passenger SUV on the dates I needed. I managed to find online but it is not a familiar company but I am desperate so I anyone knows someone in Toronto area that I could rent an SUV please buzz. Thanks Read More......

Studded Tires Legal

studded tires
The WSDOT (Washington State Dept. Of Transportation) said it is legal to use studded tires starting Nov. 1 til March 31. Though in some States is it illegal but in Washington State and few others it is legal on certain dates due to rough snow and icy condition along passes. Studded tires gives extra traction. Although there are other options and some people just have their tires sipped or use tires with walnut shells. It is just perfect for me since I do drive lots of areas that I really needed the studded tires. I do put off putting the studded tires as much as I can since I don't like the feel of the studs hitting the highway and it make a little noise while driving. It does help with traction specially on icy roads. One thing important though is drive slower on winter condition and give plenty of room to stop. This is why it is great to have four wheel drive or a all wheel drive. Just can't drive like usual. Read More......

How to Deactivate Yahoo Account

This probably do not happen often but sometimes we just have some yahoo account that would be better off deleted than left inactive. My Yahoo account for about 10 years just recently got closed. All you have to do is go to account termination link make sure you are logged in to be able to terminate the yahoo account. For me, it was a hard decision and been given some thought for sometime. Why close an account? Because it is better closed and not able to be tempted to open it again. This way the account is gone for good! Read More......

Improved Ebay Buyer Protection

Ebay and Paypal now have an improved way to dispute Ebay purchases. Not that I have real problem with dispute before on Ebay but with Paypal and Ebay improved way to settle dispute Ebay purchases made it faster and less confusing to process complains and give buyers more peace of mind knowing that Paypal/Ebay is on their side.Buyers will receive coverage for the full purchase price of the item, plus original shipping. We all know that when you buy online, not all sellers are prompt with shipping or responding to your concerns so with this newly improved way, the seller will have no choice but refund your money even if they don't respond after certain length of time. So first contact the seller before opening a case. Paypal actually hold the funds for a certain period before they forward the money to the seller, with this, Ebay/Paypal can try to assist resolve the issue and give refunds faster. Simple Test to Check and Analyze the Loading Speed of Web Page

Using Pingdom Tools
Using websiteoptimization.com
I have posted this in a forum but I thought this is a great tool to share to other blogger too to test the load time of a web page. We know that our web page loading speed plays a great factor in SEO (Search Engine Optimization). I have heard to keep your loading speed at 10 sec. a recommended time so that Google bots and other web crawlers are not gonna bounce from your slow web page loading speed. During my visit through different blogs I noticed several blog sites out there that loads really slow. Here is a simple way to test your site for loading speed and it gives you simple analysis on which widget is dragging your loading speed. visit Test the load time of a web page using  WebsiteOptimization.com
or Pingdom Tools These sites will test and analyze your web page in a way you will know which widget is loading the slowest, which files are not helping the loading speed and gives you recommendations on what to do to help solve the problem. It is worth a test

Fraud Alert

I've read in my mail  yesterday a very good warning regarding Fraud and how they wanted information to be spread out. I thought this is a great tip to share to online users since spam email, hackers, virus files and scam are rising. Using the internet is fun but we always have to do precautions to avoid becoming a victim of fraud. What are the warning signs of fraud?

Here are list to check for warnings of fraud
  • Giving offers are too good to be true.
  • Give you very limited time to think of the offer and usually pressure you to act right away.
  • Always guarantees 100% success.
  • Requiring you to pay a small upfront cost or investment even when they say it is free or you get a free "prize".
  • Sometimes it could also be a buyer who  offers to pay bigger amount than market value and ask you to send them the difference.
  • Business don't look established.
  • follow your guts, if something just don't seem right.
Always play it safe:
  • Never click on link inside an email  to visit a Web site. Instead,  type the address into the browser.
  • It is easy to make a business look legitimate online. If in doubt, verify the company with  the Better Business Bureau.
  • Only 2% of reported identity theft occurs through the mail. Report online fraud to the Federal Trade Commission @  https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/
  • Retain your receipts, statements, and packing slips and review them for accuracy.
  • Shred confidential documents even old credit cards that expired instead of simply discarding them in the trash.
Fraud Facts:

- Your bank will never email or call you for your account number or information.
- Don't wire money to people you don't know.
- Be cautious of work-at-home job offers specially the ones that ask for money first.
- Check the company first with the Better Business Bureau.
- There are no legitimate jobs that involve reshipping items or financial instruments from your home.
- Foreign lotteries are illegal in the U.S. You can't win no matter what they say.
- Check your monthly bank statements for changes you don't recognize.

It is never too early to become an informed consumer. Point out "too good to be true" offers to  kids and Senior Citizens and teach them to be skeptical.

Take an active interest in the financial activities of your aging parents.

Share information about scams with friends and family and mine here sharing it online through blogging or even use social networking to spread the anti fraud alert.

Earn Extra with Google Adsense

When I had my blog a month old I just got curious one time about monetizing blog using Google Adsense. I heard lots of blogger emphasized how they like Google Adsense so I tried it. I hit the "monetize" tab on my Blogger dashboard and it led me through the registration process then set up my adsense setting. About 2 months after the  account was created and I did not even check my Google Adsense account and one day I did, I was surprised to see that I actually earned just by putting the Widget on my site. So I started adding other blogs that I maintained to the same Google Adsense account and I see the earnings building up. How cool is that?

Last week my Google Adsense account was about 3 months old and I got a "hold payment" alert. So I went through that, set up my preferred payment method and found out Google Adsense need to send me a pin number for confirmation. Sure enough after 3 days I got my Pin Number in my mail. As a matter of fact that was this afternoon and I was real excited and opened it first. Thanks Google for the real fast delivery and for Adsense opportunity. Read More......

How to Program Subaru Impreza Keyless Entry Remote

I decided I wanted another keyless remote for my car so I bought me a spare remote on EBAY but it needs to be programmed. It cost so much to buy it from the Subaru Shop so decided to Ebay for part 88036AE060 . I have checked several sites for the instruction how to program Subaru Impreza Keyless entry remote but only this certain instruction works. I just wanted to share this instruction I followed to program my Subaru Impreza keyless entry remote and saves you time to look around for instruction and  money from going to shop.  Works on Alpine system with part number: 88036AE060
Unlock all doors, foot on brake, all doors closed. Cycle key quickly but carefully on-off approximately 10 times until the car honks one time.
(Do not turn the key far enough to start the car, just to the 'on' position so the dashboard lights up.)

When the horn honks, open and close the driver's door, press any remote button and that's it.
******To program another remote, Quickly open and close the driver's door again and push a button on the 2nd remote. That's it.

When you're done, remove the key and the horn should honk 3 times. You're all set.
Sometime it takes more than 10 on-offs to set program mode. Open/close the door, lock/unlock etc, wait 10 minutes, then try again.

Online Shopping Tips

Online shopping is getting to be popular and more and more people having the confidence of online shopping. It used to that catalog shopping was the most convenient way to shop but not anymore. There are several reasons why online shopping is getting popular and it is going to go up as more consumer confidence builds up. I have gone shopping to several online stores like Walmart.com , Ebay, TigerDirect.com, Newegg.com, victoriassecret.com, Overstock.com and Orbitz.com, Asiatravel.com, Asiarooms.com Travelocity.com,  travel.yahoo.com for my travel booking  to name the few  as I like to compare the lowest price. Why online shopping?

  • Convenience  -  The ability to go shopping on your spare time and not to worry about store hours, not to mention your own schedule too. How could you not if you can go shopping while drinking your first cup of coffee in the morning and still on your pajamas.
  • Just a click away - You can compare products with just a click of a mouse.
  • Saves you Gas Money - You don't have to drive around town to look for the product and no hassle looking for a parking site.
  • Help Air quality better - After mentioning about not having to drive aimlessly from one store to another just  to go shopping, imagine how much you help in a year if you drive less so gas emissions saved.
  • Cheaper - E-ticket bought online are definitely cheaper. Most online stores are cheaper compare to their Department Store counterpart.
  • More Choices - Even Departments Stores that offer online shopping offered more product selection online and sometimes offer availability online only.

With all the convenience and advantages of online shopping but there are disadvantages too. That is why it is best to weigh things out before you try.
  • Returns - it is a hassle to return items if it did not met your expectation or some missing item. It is best you  shop online  to stores that have local outlet nearby. They usually take returns in there store outlets. If you do have to return an item, you usually have to pay for the return shipping and have to wait for product to arrive hoping it is right next time.
  • Shipping cost extra - always consider when you buy that you do have to pay extra for shipping although some states do not  have to pay tax so the shipping cost turn out even.

As much as online shopping is so easy and quick, there are several things to consider too.

  • Think of safety and privacy. I would not go online shop using a public computer or shared public network.
  • Only shop to prominent sites. You don't want to give away your financial information and address to anyone.
  • Always check their return policy and refunds. Don't get caught buying in a store that don't allow returns.
  • Use discount codes. Like coupons, you can save extra using those discount codes or online coupons.
  • Take advantage of their free shipping options unless you want the  product sent quicker. Like Walmart.com offers Site-to-store free shipping option and  some online stores offer free shipping if you shop certain amount like victoriassecret.com free shipping for shopping cart worth $100.00
  • Know your limit, it is easy to get carried away when you don't have to deal with cash.
Even if you don't buy online, try to do some research of the product online and compare prices before buying it in stores.

Intense Debate,Brings Comment to Different Level

Go to IntenseDebate
commentluvBring your comment box to the next level switch to Intense Debate. It's about a month now since I converted my comment box into intense debate. It just brings your comment section into different level, better interaction and also some plug ins that used to be only available for Wordpress platform, like CommentLuv which I just liked the most which let my commenter post their latest blog post URL. Please do put your blog URL to benefit the COMMENTLUV plug in. It is not really complicated to switch either, it only takes few steps and ability to follow instructions and taking time to read and there should be no problem. For Blogger platform, it will hide your previous comments if you choose to convert all your post including the old posts into Intense Debate. So let it be known that it does give you that option. With me, I don't want to hide the old post because I don't want my commenter before to think that I deleted their comments so I decided to convert just the newer posts. If you can see, some of my post are on intense debate and the older ones are still on old system. I would recommend converting to Intense Debate by inserting code through template, as the other option which is adding the widget will slow down the upload speed of your page and we all know that is not good. Please check their website for more info.

ebay bucks

Most people know that you can get good deals on EBAY. But not all good deals are all that great because there are lots of things to watch out for when you are bidding. Most common mistakes new Ebay bidder does is not checking the shipping cost, relying too much on pictures and not the actual description and condition of the product and not checking if it is new or refurbished. I have been bidding products on EBAY for 4 years now. I have to admit I made few "not-so-good-deals". Although most of my purchases on Ebay are "BUY IT NOW" products, I still became leery buying electronics like laptops and cellphones. I don't mind buying like webcam and memory cards and other accessories for computer and cellphones because they are usually really  cheaper on EBAY and some hard to find products can be found  here too . The fact that it is hard to return products on EBAY is one reason  you are still better off buying expensive electronics in your local store so you can return  without having to pay the shipping cost again. But the other day . I just got my webcam and spare cellphone battery for free on EBAY using my "Ebay Bucks". This is pretty nice idea they come up with but there are some qualifications. I been on EBAY BUCKS few months now and since I bid often on EBAY, I really get the benefit of it. Ebay Bucks is open for U.S. residents, of legal age and uses PAYPAL. Save Money, Do It Yourself Car Repair

My offline work is very demanding, I travel 100 miles average daily visiting my patients around countryside and remote areas. Sometimes I go to towns and cities I never been to before so imagine me going through several rigs after years of work to keep up with my travel needs and have a reliable car. With that amount of mileage I have to travel daily, me and my coworkers usually drives a "fuel efficient cars" not necessarily hybrid. I wish I can afford to go hybrid, as much as I like to try but I am not financially ready for it yet.

It is pretty common to see Ford Escort in our company's parking lot or other compact type of different make. You can't imagine how much I saved by driving a compact type car compared to driving my big truck. It is almost buying my compact car for free for all the money I saved on gas cost monthly. Not just that, I also saved some money because it cost less to repair, maintain and replacement parts for compact cars compare to SUV and Trucks. Believe me one time I have to have my timing belt replaced and that cost me an arm and a leg. It is hard not knowing much about cars. Even a simple repair like that, I have not enough confidence to do it myself.

After years of having to deal with minor repairs and going to repair shop. I realized I am better off buying a repair manual and do it myself. Sometimes some auto mechanics take advantage of your ignorance with cars. Me particularly is not really an auto mechanic and auto terms savvy nor knows much what's under the hood of my car. It will definitely help to be familiarized with the terms and parts of an automobile and slowly build confidence to work on simple task. So since I have my own repair manual I have managed to change oil, change flat tire and do little maintenance and safety check like check water pump and stuffs by using repair manual. I even upgraded my stereo system and installed subwoofers. With our digital world , we can even get repair manuals on CD or search online. It is unbelievable how much information we get online. Next time you have to do minor repairs, go online first and save yourself some bucks. Read More......

Adgitize Advertising Pays Back

Adgitize your web site.

It's about two months and a half now since I started blogging. I was kinda reluctant to "publicise" my site before but I gave it a try anyhow. So I tried a month for Adgitize and instantly I saw traffic had increased and found out I also got paid lil extra if you publicise. I pretty much earn back what I paid for a month of "publishing" if you become more active. So here I posted a proof of my payment from Adgitize through my paypal account.

Thanks Adgitize for the payment and for the friendly customer service that is willing to listen and help new blogger like me. Unlike other publishing group I found which given my new blog a cold treatment and unprofessional comment and being told "my posts don't make sense at all." Considering my blog was only 3 days old at that time, I would rather hear them told me that my blog need more contents than be told bluntly and so sarcastic. Read More......

Visiting Toronto, Visiting Her

I spent my weekend in Toronto with my Honey that's why I was not able to reply to messages recently. Stayed at Four Points Sheraton Hotel Lake Shore , great view and accommodation. I would really like to make an individual reviews of the hotels and restaurants we visited. Bottom line is we had a blast in Toronto, spend time together, dine together and visited our friend Yhen who took us to her cousin's birthday party. We met few people and visited for a short period. By the way thanks Yhen for the Tim Horton Coffee , sure was a treat and taste good specially that cold night.

There are lots of places we planned on going but with limited time we had, we just have to squeeze in whatever is on our top list with the amount of time we have First we planned on going to Centre Island, was gonna take the ferry , found a parking spot but it was too cold yet my Honey wearing tank top on and shorts, so we decided to go shopping for jacket first, went to Union Station and took the train and head towards Eaton Centre. Great sale on Aeropotale lol so finally we both got our "hoodies" then head back down and so we decided to take the PATH and went to see CN Tower up close. There we took our time but we actually forgot our time is running fast and hardly had time to to go Centre Island. ohh well we had a great downtown stroll that day.

Then the following day we drove to Niagara Falls which is about 1 and half considering traffic and try go karting. Yes! we had great time then decided to make reservation at the world-famous Revolving Dining Room overlooking Niagara Falls There we took lots of pictures , we just can't enough of the breath taking sight while dining. The restaurant actually revolve a full rotation in an hour, so we got to see the view around Skylon tower. The food taste great and the desserts are just to die for.it was yummy! I have to say , it was one of the best tasting vanilla cheesecake I had and she ordered Chocolate Amaretto Torte. The whole experience was memorable and very romantic ahihihi.

If you are like me who update your blog often , you will find it having to go back to edit page or design page and without the navigation bar, you will find yourself finding ways to click back to dashboard.

One quick way is either you can save the dashboard URL to your browser's favorite list or you can do like I did. I've added the dashboard link to my "link List Plug In" . Copy the Dashboard URL below and save the link to your browsers favorite list or add it to your "Link List plug in"

Free Calls Anywhere in U.S. & Canada using GMAIL (nothing to buy)

This is one of the coolest thing added in Gmail . What about the ability to call for free right from your GMAIL. Yes I have tried it and it works for free. I got excited just trying it although am not gonna use it much but I know there would be lots of people out there that can use this calls for free service. All I did was visit this LINK and install the plug in for your GMAIL then reboot your browser, log in to your gmail account (email) then on left panel u will see the "call phone". That's it , you are set for a free call to U.S. and Canada with nothing to but log in to your Gmail in any browser. Read More......

Google Chrome Showing Some Malware Warning on Few Sites

I noticed earlier today when I tried to check my blog using Google Chrome and It showed this "Warning: Visiting this site may harm your computer! check out which code need to be deleted or else few blog sites will lose few potential traffic due to this warning.
First check your blog by viewing it on Chrome. If you get the warning page then you will need to remove this widget/widgets off to fix the problem. This is the widget that shows popularity and drop value for entrecard. I believe this is just a third party plug in and Entrecard has nothing to do with this. I was alarmed to see such alert because this widget was working fine for months now and suddenly this.I want to mention it again that this only happens using Google Chrome browser..

How To Change the Logo or Icon on Your Address Bar for Blogger.com account

change address bar icon

I have few people that says it don't work anymore. I actually went to few blogs talking about Blogger.com not allowing to customized the favicon on address bar or the title bar. Well, I've tried few codes and sure is,there are codes that did not work but after different trial and error, I found a code with lil editing, it worked for me. as you can see on my title bar has custom logo.It is simple yet takes few steps to follow . First you need to create a favicon or convert an image into .ICO extension (favicon- is short for favorite icon , URL icon ,website icon, shortcut icon) These sites will make you generate the favicon:

Site 1 IconJ is the answer to all favicon needs, it converts image to favicon and it can also host your favicon and you don't need to sign up . After you upload the image it will actually generate you the CODE . Choose "Host It at IconJ.com: (Direct Link) ." Copy the code .

jh3riz24 blog tips

Now log in to you Blogger.com account andedit your template html (it is a good habit to save and back up your template when u edit)
Find </head> using "Ctrl / Command + G" .Paste the code you copied from IconJ just before the </head> I just like to paste it here because it is easy to find and I dont have to mess with lots of <meta> tags.

"Save Template" , now when you visit your page, you should see the custom icon on title bar or the address bar.

Site 2. FAVICON.CC will make you create your own favicon and convert regular image into favicon format. SO this is still nice site to use if you want to make your own favicon then use ICONJ as your Favicon Host.

Site 3. Favicon Generator and Gallery also let you generate a favicon but the difference is you could also submit it to their gallery and they would add your icon as part of their change link system.

luv comment

comment luv

I finally getting the hang out of this new update I made to my Blog comment system. First,I modify my code to turn it into DoFollow which make my commenter able share my back link juice, it is kinda suicidal for rank hungry blogger as it will send negative impact to blog ranking when there are too much outbound links, but the positive still outweighs the negative impact as it will drive more traffic and encourage comments showing more numbers for "reach" and because of that I enable LUV COMMENT on my blog. It's not just sharing back link juice, but also showing your last blog entry. So please try and see for yourself the benefit of on your blog and I would like to add them to my DoFollow and CommentLuv list. Try to comment here and see how LUV Comment would work for your blog too Read More......
